Hyde County is known as the “blacklands” because of its rich, fertile soil and contributes $133,411,000 to the North Carolina agriculture. However, because of climate change, sea water is being pushed onto their land and killing their crops. Farmers in Hyde County don’t know how much longer until the land they love is gone forever.
